Wow, I'm just not creative today.
Maybe some of you remember when I didn't have a CMS handling the news. That went on for a little while because at that age, I had no idea what a CMS was in the first place.
Then, while we were on Planet Nintendo (Gamespy), Chris over at Lufia World helped me connect the phpBB forums to the site. phpBB was eventually converted to SMF, so for some reason things didn't work out anymore. Then CuteNews came into the picture. CuteNews was hacked, caused some problems, but it was still all right for the time being, I guess.
Then we had to leave Gamespy. CuteNews still worked, but Aaron over here came to the rescue and converted the data into SMF posts, so now the "site news" are finally one! It can't get better than this! Did I mention he LOST SLEEP while making sure things went fine? Yeah, everyone, kick him in the bum for it! (And don't forget to pat him on the back too, thanks Aaron!!)

Hey there,
After a few hours, I've finally got the gallery up. With this, I can finish the migration from gamespy to this server.
At the current moment, those who wish to submit something should let us (maybe me for now?) know through PM. This can be either fan art or some official art, anything that fits. You may request your own folder for your works. Think of this as an addition to the threads you make in the fan art forum. I still suggest activity in there! Any changes, such as descriptions (even things like adding e-mail or websites), titles, deletion, or anything should be sent through PM as well.
Later on, maybe we'll have a new topic in the fan art section welcoming any submissions, making PMs an alternative choice. Or something, we'll have to figure out something together, okay?
GS DS stuff is coming. Shoulders are just stiff right now...

RPGamer's camera footage of the demo. Probably the same things you've seen before except for some commentary and dancing djinn on the upper screen, which you may or may have not seen yet.
Thanks dole_95 for the heads up!

Thanks Cruel Ruin for finding it on Nintendo's E3 press site! The username and password is... well, I'll let you find it at the bottom of the Press Release page (is that supposed to be there?).
Also check out the official Golden Sun DS E3 page, where you can view screenshots and the trailer once more.
In case you overlooked the details on the Press Release page:
Golden Sun? DS: After going dark six years ago, 2010 will see a new dawn. Golden Sun DS updates the popular portable Golden Sun role-playing series with an impressive graphical style. This installment follows the story of the previous heroes? descendants and immerses players into the magic of its adventure by pushing the boundaries of intuitive touch-screen controls. Golden Sun DS is playable on the Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi systems.
Click for larger image, but watch out, it's 1.85mb!
(Logo-less Version, thanks LOLcayter!)

The End of Gamespy Hosting

Hey guys,
I got an important e-mail. Long story short, they're ending their hosting services on August 31st. What this means for us is no more free hosting. o_o!
(But we'll be able to use goldensunrealm.com like it was meant to be used...)
For you, this won't mean much since the forums are already on a different server. For me, I just have a lot of work to do now.
So... yeah.

It's Time to Move!

It was recently announced that IGN Hosting is shutting down. The site will be moving to a different server (probably the same one the forums are on), so it's extremely important to utilize the .com address, which for years has simply been redirecting to this url.
The move will take a while, but you can bet it'll be done long before August 31st, the last day!
Thanks Gamespy, for all the years of hosting!!

An Announcement

It has been brought to the attention of the Moderation team on several occasions that rule breaking is becoming increasingly common, especially in regards to swearing and other words blocked by the filter. There are talks already about altering what words are in the filter, but that is not relevant. What's in there now stands until it changes, and anyone caught circumventing the filter from here on out will have their post modified and be warned privately. Gather enough warnings and we will take further action.
We don't have that many rules here at GSR. What few we do are rules that are simply there to improve the quality of this place. Rule #3 is present because a significant portion of our userbase is below the established age restrictions (regardless of what country). But it's more than that. It's unnecessary and unneeded. If you can't express yourself without the use of swear words, read a thesaurus or keep your comments to yourself.
Recent months have also delivered us a series of completely immature and senseless infighting between members. There are separate circumstances to each, but they all have been blown out of proportion, resulting in some members leaving us for good, or others deleting their accounts. Pointless goading and insulting of other members will meet with similar retribution.
Users are encouraged to use the "Report to Moderator" option more often. Currently, it's rarely used, yet there have been many instances of rule breaking in recent times. The Moderation team may not have the time to view every post every day, and the assistance of the userbase can only aid in maintaining the few rules our small society has.
GSR does not ask for much. I hope you can find it within yourselves to do this for this place many of you are so fond of and not ruin it for the rest of us.
