Isaac's story began three years ago when the storm caused a giant boulder to fall from Mount Aleph and wreck havok on Vale. On that night, both he and Garet witness the destruction of Vale and the loss of Isaac's father and Jenna's parents. Three years later, both he and Garet trained to become elemental adepts to harness the power they needed to prevent anything tragic from ever happening again.

Garet is Isaac's childhood friend and the grandson of Vale's village chief. Garet's personality sometimes causes him to speak without thinking.

The polite and gentle Ivan was raised by Lord Hammet of Kalay. He was stuck in the town of Vault because Lord Hammet's precious Shaman's Rod was stolen by a group of thieves. Accused of being the culprit, he asks Isaac and Garet for help when they visit Vault for the first time. Being a wind adept, he harnesses the power of Mind Read to see the hearts of people and is later capable of seeing things that others can't; strange powers which often causes non-adepts to avoid him.

Mia is said to be a guardian from the Mercury Lighthouse who visits Imil to take care of people with her healing powers. She felt the need to leave when she spots something strange happening at the Mercury Lighthouse. The children were able to take her place while she went to investigate. She thought that Alex might've been the cause of the lighthouse's strange behavior. Mia joins Isaac and company when she was in great need of their help to go up the Mercury Lighthouse.

A Proxian who seeks the secrets of alchemy. Saturos and Menardi were actually the culprits behind the eruption of Mt. Aleph mass destruction of Vale, since they attempted to force their way in Sol Sanctum. Saturos and Menardi were also Felix's saviors and have gained a new ally in their quest to light the beacons of the four elemental lighthouses.

Thought to be dead from the tragedy three years ago, Felix is found barely living by Saturos and Menardi. He was raised away from Vale by Saturos and Menardi for three years. As Kraden and company were visiting Sol Sanctum, he appears with the antagonists with his face covered by a mask. By command, Felix was forced to remove his mask in front of his sister, Jenna. With the elemental stars, Saturos' party plans to light the beacons of the four elemental lighthouses to unlock the lost arts of alchemy. Felix continues to travel with Saturos and Menardi to repay his debt to them.
